Will These Materials Fall off the Magnetic Crane If there is a Sudden Power Outage?

No. We will ensure your safety. Our magnetic cranes are equipped with a battery backup. Moreover, for the electro-permanent model, it keeps a stable magnetic force even after power is cut off, continuously locking the material and preventing your employees from getting hurt.

Can the Magnetic Crane Handle Materials with Uneven or Rusted Surfaces?

Yes. Rust, paint, and uneven surfaces usually create a gap between the magnet and the material, which will lower holding power. DINGYA lifting magnet cranes are constructed with high-flux density to penetrate your material. However, for the sake of your safety, it is recommended to reduce the lifting weight appropriately. 

How Often Does a Magnetic Crane Need Maintenance?

You can build a comprehensive maintenance plan and inspect the magnetic strength, electrical components, and housing every three to six months. Moreover, after each shift change, you need to check the magnet surface and the wiring. Our magnetic crane is paired with a diagnostic interface, and it is easier for your employees to check on hidden dangers. 

Is It Suitable for Lifting High-Temperature Steel Plates?

Yes. But standard magnetic lifters are not suitable. Our high-heat-resistant models provide you with strong magnetic force, supporting the lifting of steel plates at 400–600°C. It is equipped with thermal insulation shielding and a water cooling system, protecting the magnetic coils from damage. Tell us your highest material temperature, so we can configure the right unit for you.

Can the Magnetic Crane Be Installed on an Existing Overhead Crane System?

Of course. Thanks to its modular design, it can successfully connect with the overhead bridge cranes, gantry cranes, and jib cranes. You can integrate it through the mechanical hook. Remember that the magnet and load do not exceed your crane’s rated weight.

How Does A Magnetic Crane Work?

When the lifting magnet crane is powered on, current passes through the coil and creates a magnetic field. It makes the lifting device firmly absorb ferromagnetic materials such as steel plates, steel billets, or scrap steel. 

And when you power off, the magnetic field disappears and the material is automatically released. Thus, it helps improve your work efficiency and is often applied in repetitive jobs.

Considerations for Selecting the Right Magnetic Crane

Material Characteristics

The requirements for magnetic force vary among different materials. For example, thick steel plates require a stronger magnetic force. But for scrap steel, you should increase the coverage area to process.  

Moreover, if your material has an uneven surface or is coated with paint, the magnetic force will weaken. So, you’d better send the workpiece parameters to our engineers for testing so that the crane delivers stable operation under real working conditions.

Lifting Weight

You should evaluate the material weight, and then leave at least twice the load capacity to select a crane. It is noted that stacking multiple layers or biased loading will decrease its actual bearing capacity. So, it’s best to assess based on the largest workpiece size and the heaviest single piece weight.

Working Conditions

A harsh working environment influences the performance of your magnets. You need to select a magnetic crane with a high IP rating shell to fight against rainwater and dust. Also, painting with anti-corrosion coating is beneficial to extend their service life. And the strong insulation helps handle high-heat environments like steel mills.

Efficiency

Its work efficiency is affected by the adsorption and release speed and the difficulty of operation.

For instance, the electro-permanent magnet cranes have short charging and demagnetization times, helping accelerate the working pace. Built-in PLC system is user-friendly, and omits complex operating steps.
