Span

Gantry cranes typically have two outriggers. The distance between the two outriggers is called the span. The larger the span, the higher the price.Because as the span increases, the main beam is more prone to bending downwards when hoisting heavy objects. The length of the main beam also increases accordingly. Therefore, the price increases.

For example, if you initially inquired about a crane with a 5-meter span, but the operating environment becomes wider, you might need a crane with a 10-meter span. The increase in span alone would increase the price by approximately 18% to 25%.

Lifting height

The lifting height of a gantry crane is not the total height of the outriggers. It refers to the travel distance of the hook. Without considering other factors, increasing the lifting height

Single Girder Gantry Crane

This equipment is designed for load capacities from 1 to 20 tons, with a span range of 8 to 30 meters.

Double Girder Gantry Crane

The purchase price of a double-girder gantry crane is higher than that of a single-girder gantry crane, primarily due to its structural design. It requires a higher ground bearing capacity. This may increase your civil engineering costs. Spare parts replacement costs are also higher than for single-girder gantry cranes.

RubberTyred Gantry Crane（RTG）

Rubber-tired gantry cranes (RTGs) come in single-girder and double-girder structures. You will need to equip them with large rubber tires, a steering mechanism, and a complete hydraulic system. These supporting components are relatively expensive.

However, it can turn freely. Operate directly on cement and asphalt surfaces.No steel rails are needed. It can save you a lot of money on track and foundation construction costs. The lifting capacity ranges from 10 to 80 tons. 

Among them, container-specific rubber-tired gantry cranes most fall within the 30- 45 ton range, with 10-40 tons being the most commonly used. Goliath Crane

The Goliath Crane is the most expensive of all gantry crane models. It belongs to the category of ultra-large, heavy-duty rail-mounted double-girder gantry cranes. You can lift loads ranging from 100 to 2500 tons with this crane. 

This crane is only suitable for very specific operating scenarios. It is not suitable for ordinary factory environments. If your project is a standard general-purpose workshop, there is no need to invest in purchasing a giant crane. If it’s a rail-mounted gantry crane, you’ll need to hire a professional operator to disassemble it and install the appropriate rails at the new site.

What if the crane is damaged during transport?

There are three parties responsible for goods damaged during transportation: First, the factory; second, the freight forwarder; and third, the insurance company.

If goods are damaged before shipment, the factory is 100% responsible.

If it’s an EXW shipment, the factory does not assume any risk after shipping.
